The Story Behind The Amaya Brand
In 2009, Arturo Amaya was the repair coordinator at 3-Day Blinds, the person the broken blinds came back to. While the industry was built to sell, Arturo's job was to fix. He learned every mechanism, every brand, every way a blind can fail, and every way it can be brought back to life.
Then, 3-Day Blinds closed hundreds of showrooms, and the industry made its choice: when a blind breaks, sell the customer a new one. Arturo made a different one. He struck out on his own to do the work nobody else wanted — repair.
The in-home service started with the seniors of Rossmoor. Arturo noticed that the people who most needed their blinds fixed were the ones least able to take them down, drive them somewhere, and rehang them. So, he went to them. He brought the shop into their living rooms and, to this day, has never stopped. Today, homeowners across Sonoma, Marin, Napa, and San Francisco counties know the same experience those first customers did: the expert comes to you.
Seventeen years in, Arturo has repaired blinds and shades from every major brand, including the ones other companies won't service. In fact, some of those companies send him their repairs. When the shop down the road can't fix it, it ends up in Arturo's hands.
The math has never changed: a new shade can cost $300 to $800, and most repairs cost a fraction of that. Arturo uses recycled and reused items whenever he can, rather than throwing them away. Repair isn't just cheaper. It's the right way to treat things that were built to last.
But ask his customers, and the repairs are only half the story. If there's a piano in the home, there's a good chance Arturo will sit down and play a song before he goes — a small serenade, on the house. It's not a gimmick. It's simply who he is. Music, innovation, and kindness are the backbone of his business, and people feel it the moment he walks through the door.
And Amaya isn't just the name of the business; it's the name of the family behind it. Arturo built this trade to be handed down, which means every repair carries something no franchise can offer: a name that stands behind the work, today and for the next generation.
You'll find that name all over his reviews. Customers don't say they called a company. They say they called Arturo.
